So lucky with the most stunning scenery on my doorstep I had a hard time deciding where to go for my OHFH ride this year. The route Jamie picked last year was impressive, a tad wet and much fun  :-)   I was lucky to get permission to cross private estate land then. Today I got one step closer to the final route for my ride this year, planned for Sunday 9 September.

I got some help from my boss who knows the area well and pointed out 2 possible routes deemed safe and suitable for horses and their riders. In the next weeks I will need to check out these 2 possibilities - both starting at the White Corries in Glencoe. From there we will either ride past The Kings House towards the Black Corries (if granted permission by the estate) or follow the route to Victoria Bridge (near Bridge of Orchy). How does this description on route 2 sound to you?
http://www.west-highland-way.co.uk/theroute_subpage.asp?inst=3&id=670  I tend to lean to this one and have now been informed by local endurance rider and friend Liz that it is great ground to travel on all the way. That route will be just over 10 miles each way.

Either/Or the breath taking scenery is guaranteed. A shame I can't say the same about the weather. We got soaked last year and I will prepare for the same now. My Dutch Apple Pie - usually a big hit - wasn't my best last year so I will need to improve on the treat I offer to my fellow riders....   :-)

In the past few days I have bombarded numerous websites & magazines again with information on On Horses for Horses, sending links to the video and I kept my finger crossed for some Interest. Happy days when I received a call from Horse & Hound and had a chat with a kind lady who told me they will write a small article about it on their website. Some time next week I believe. I will keep my eyes peeled and I sure hope it will generate more interest  :-)

Okay, I am now going to warm up again in a hot shower after I got soaked in a thunderous downpour.... :-)
